MY DREAM BOAT x HESTER FLEMEN (F) 2019

Pioneer are thrilled to have purchased this gorgeous model of a Filly by first season Sire My Dream Boat out of the multiple winning Flemensfirth Mare Hester Flemen.

Given the exploits of our multiple winning and black type chase performing mare Hurricane Georgie and multiple hurdle winner Shesadream we thought it would be great to search for more fillies that we believe could make there presence felt over obstacles and have been looking actively throughout the Spring and Summer to source the right candidates to add to the team.

Our fillies sire My Dream Boat was a Group 1 winner during his racing career and had the distinction of beating Arc Heroine Found at Royal Ascot. What intrigued us about My Dream Boat as a sire was firstly his durability during his racing career and also his ability to win with ease in the ground which of course can be a useful asset in National Hunt Racing.

The dam of our filly Hester Flemen (who is sired by Flemensfirth who’s record speaks for itself as a sire and broodmare sire) has the distinction of winning a Point-to-point, a Bumper, over Hurdles and Fences under rules which is not an easy feat and was rated 137 at her peak. She is a full sister to Backinthere who was a black type performer and also a multiple winner over fences and hurdles. The family is full of black type National Hunt performers especially those who excelled over the larger obstacles such as Tryfirion, The Nigelstan, Major Owen and Galway Plate Winner The Lady’s Master.

We also consulted with Gordon and his team regarding the filly as he purchased the half sister last year (€65,000 sales topper on the day), he really likes the half sister who has shown the right signs at home and is a fan of the family as he also had Stoneford for the early stages of his career who was a talented horse (1/2 brother to Hester Flemen and multiple winner for Gigginstown).

This filly has an outstanding physical and moves for fun covering plenty of ground with her sizeable frame which stands over 16.2 hands already and what we like about her is she is very athletic with her size. You really can’t fault her as a model. We view this filly as one who could show up well in a bumper where the family have a history of winning them and then coming into her own once sent over obstacles and could be a type who relishes winter conditions. She is one who we believe would also shape up into a attractive broodmare prospect once her racing days are over due to her physique and gives her shareholders the added bonus of residual value down the line.
