Alice Kitty - Punchestown 4

BOBBY’S KITTEN X CLASSIC LEGEND (GALILEO) 2018 (F)

Bobby’s Kitten x Classic Legend (Galileo) F

Pioneer are delighted to have purchased recent winner Alice Kitty to embark on a campaign which will include juvenile hurdling and to be trained by the fantastic team at Cullentra House Stables.

We were on the look out to purchase a horse from the flat who would be suitable to go juvenile hurdling with and with the assistance of Aidan ‘Mouse’ O’Ryan & Gordon Elliott have found an ideal candidate with plenty to offer for relatively small money. She was claimed off the flat for €5k with 22 individual claims went in for her, It’s fair to say she was in high demand! She came highly recommended as her 8/11 SP on the day would suggest and was a bargain basement price on the day as her previous owner is down sizing in numbers (A video can be seen of the finish further down).

She comes off the back of a win doing her best work in the finish and visually gives the impression that she will appreciate further whilst her pedigree has a nice blend of speed and stamina being by Group 1 winner Bobby’s Kitten out of a Black type winning mare in Classic Legend who is by the almighty Galileo who is a massive influence of stamina. Physically she is a lovely model of a horse costing €36,000 as a yearling and was brought by one of the leading bloodstock agencies in BBA Ireland.

She has already popped over barrels since arriving at Cullentra which she took to straight away and is was turned way for a couple of weeks at grass for a short break and is now back in training. Where she is rated 74 on the flat she will qualify for a lot of the big handicaps at the Flat festivals and we will look to start her off at the Galway Festival and then embark on a juvenile hurdle campaign with the dream of course being to end up at a Spring Festival such as Cheltenham.

Aidan O’Ryan – ‘She was one we were very keen to claim as we saw her as a horse that has the profile and pedigree to improve with time and she also stays on the flat which will put her in good stead when she goes over hurdles. At the price we think she is an excellent buy and I’m sure she will pay her way and be lots of fun for those involved.’

Gordon Elliott – ‘Delighted to have her here at Cullentra and she adds to a nice team of horses that we are building up for a great bunch of owners Pioneer Racing. Since she has been with us she has been over poles to get used to the jumping side of things and we then gave her a short break to freshen up at grass. She’s now back into routine and we are looking to start her off at the Galway Festival on the level and will then look to go juvenile hurdling with her. She could be a nice dual purpose prospect.’
