Pioneer Horse Racing are delighted to of secured this strapping and athletic son of Shirocco out of Milan mare Breffni Gael.

He is by current sire sensation Shirocco, who himself is by none other than National Hunt’s very own sire of sires Monsun. Shirocco’s progeny have really came into their own in recent seasons as his Irish bred National Hunt crop have started to surface, with a lot of promising young individuals showcasing their talents in both the P2P sector and under rules including Gordon Elliott’s Champion Bumper placed mare Queens Brook, Pioneer Racing’s Off Your Rocco who was an impressive first time out winner for Gordon, Your Darling – described by Henrietta Knight as the nicest horse she has brought since Best Mate and Graded novice hurdle winners Shewearsitwell & Highway One O Two. Shirocco has also produced household names such as Cheltenham Festival winner Minella Rocco, Lac Fontana, Rock the Kasbah and the multiple Grade 1 winning superstar Annie Power. His dam Breffni Gael is herself a multiple winner under National Hunt rules and P2P whilst many of her siblings also won over fences. Breffni Gael is by the newly crowned National Hunt sire Milan who has produced household names such as Jezki, Monalee and Santini to name only a few. She hails from the family of Fighting Fifth hurdle winner Batabanoo.

As a damsire Milan is showing strong credentials with examples being Grade 1 winner Coney Island and Talkischeap. The Shirocco x Milan line is only a young one but is showing its promise early under rules and in the P2P sector with winners such as Carrig Rock and Ebony Gale and £210,000 P2P purchase Unbreakable Bond.

This gelding already stands at around 16 hands 2 in height and is still growing, he has completed his pre-training with Dot Love and Ciaran Murphy with flying colours and is now in Cullentra House where he will continue his training. His stature will give owners plenty of options in the future and he looks a prime candidate of going through the ranks and becoming a staying chaser in time.
