FLEMENSFIRTH X TAKEYOURCAPOFF 2018 (G)

Pioneer are delighted to have secured this regally bred Gelding by the highly revered champion National Hunt Sire Flemensfirth out of the Black type Kings Theatre Mare Takeyourcapoff.

Flemensfirth has been crowned champion sire on multiple occasions and was Coolmores flagship National Hunt Stallion until retiring from covering duties in 2020. Flemensfirth continues to produce top level National Hunt horses with household names such as Tidal Bay, Flemenstar, Topofthegame, Lostintranslation, Waiting Patiently and possibly the best known of all being his Gold Cup winning son Imperial Commander, the list goes on in which you can view here: https://www.racingpost.com/profile/horse/96578/flemensfirth.

The dam Takeyourcapoff won plenty of races under rules including some for Gordon Elliott & the team at Cullentra and achieved black type during her race career. Her pedigree is a very strong one being by Kings Theatre who himself sired plenty of National Hunt stars such as Cue Card, Bellshill, Menorah, The New One and Cheltenham festival winner Champ who it turns out is bred on the same line as Takeyourcapoff (out of a Definite Article mare) and she is also a full sister to the Graded winner Peregrine Run who has won 18 races and counting. She is also proving to be a quality broodmare with her first runner to hit the track being Pioneer Racing’s very own and exciting gelding ‘Off Your Rocco’ who has won at black type level (some of his wins can be viewed in the video below).

The Flemensfirth x Kings Theatre cross which our gelding consists of is producing plenty of high quality horses including Black type performers that you will be familiar with in Ireland such as the Willie Mullins trained pair Yukon Lil & Glens of Antrim, Henry De Bromhead trained mare Minella Melody. Whilst the Harley Dunne owned Its Gonnahappen was a 12 length winner on debut. Some other examples of this cross are the black type performers such as Donald McCain’s black type performer Minella Drama, Rebecca Curtis trained Sunset Showdown and Nigel Twiston-Davies trained Good Boy Bobby.

This gelding is powerfully built and has a lovely presence to him, he has already been broken in by Ciaran Murphy at his renowned Charlestown Racing base in Mullingar and the plan will be for him to join Cullentra House in the future. Both yards are very familiar with the family and it was the same system adopted for Off Your Rocco.
