Holy Motivation – Downpatrick

Just over a week has passed since Holy Motivation’s valiant effort at Downpatrick in which she was only beaten 1/2 a length off the back of another close second earlier on that week. Racehorses are special creatures and have many traits, with Holy Motivation bravery springs to mind and we are sure to have many more great days out with our iron mare. The journey for some to the races began with adverse weather caused by Storm Callum, especially for those who flew across whilst the storm was in full flow, we are happy to report everyone who could make it arrived in one piece! After Downpatrick it was great to have a catch-up with Owners on the Friday night prior to the yard visit at the fantastic Moyvalley Hotel which once again proved to be a hit, we could not recommend a better place to stay when visiting Gordon’s.

Gordon Yard Visit

The following morning and we were on our way to Cullentra House we awoke to plenty of rain however this could not dampen the spirits amongst our owners. It is a pleasure to visit Gordon and the team who are always very accommodating, Gordon and his assistants chatted away to everyone taking questions from the floor and the odd selfie! It was a truly magical seeing the Pioneer horses in there home environment. It is also a great buzz to visit the superstars such as Cheltenham Festival winner Samcro and Grand National hero Tiger Roll. We also saw many of the young and upcoming future stars in the yard, we suspect a few names went into our visitors notebooks with a view to the season ahead. In the visit we also got to see our new Milan x Banbury Cross filly on the gallops, we can now reveal she has been named Saint or Sinner (only 25% remaining). Saint or Sinner is doing everything that is asked of her with ease has a great attitude and more importantly Gordon is very happy with her and how she is progressing.

Fairyhouse Racecourse Visit

After a brilliant morning the majority of the group headed up the road to take in the return of the jumps card at Fairyhouse races. We hired a box for Pioneer owners which was an excellent facility and provided a great view of the action, we would like to thank the team at Fairyhouse Racecourse for looking after us. A winner or two was provided by David Jennings and from earlier talk at the yard which did not go amiss with some very happy owners.

Future Visit

The day was incredibly well received by all those that attended and yard visits are just one aspect that race horse ownership which Pioneer offers. We are already planning for our next upcoming visit, if you would like to be involved in this great experience please check out the range of shares that Pioneer has to offer. https://pioneerhorseracing.com/buy-shares
