Soldier of Fortune x Line Perle Grey Filly 2019

Pioneer are delighted to of purchased this very attractive Grey Soldier of Fortune filly who is out of a black type mare and hails from the family of the great Granit Jack amongst many other top level performers in her pedigree. She is to be trained by Gordon Elliott and the team at Cullentra House and currently holds a entry in the €100k Tattersalls Sales Bumper at Fairyhouse Easter Weekend.

At Pioneer we have had a fantastic season with our fillies getting into the winners enclosure which include the great exploits of our Superstar mare Hurricane Georgie amongst others and we have been keen to continue expanding for the future and adding young fillies selectively to the team including this one. After consulting with Gordon & Aidan (Mouse) O’Ryan we had this filly on our list to purchase and were delighted to get her.

Our filly is by the exciting National Hunt Stallion ‘Soldier of Fortune’ who himself is already the Sire of Graded winners including ‘Mega Fortune’ & Cheltenham Festival winner ‘Early Doors’ with his first Irish bred progeny only starting to hit the track & providing him with plenty of winners both under rules and also in the Point-to-Point sphere.

Our fillies dam ‘Line Perle’ is herself a black type performer and more importantly has proven she is a capable broodmare and can pass her abilities onto her progeny with our fillies own half brother being a multiple winner and has also earned the distinction of black type himself.
This filly is a lovely moving horse, she has size and substance to her and is very athletic in his appearance. She has been pleasing Gordon at his stables and is currently going through her early stages of training which has gone very well so far and is being taught the basics of being a racehorse. She is the type of horse we expect to start in a bumper before embarking on a career over hurdles. It’s a wonderful family to have been able to get involved in and we are very much looking forward towards getting her out on track in the future.

Gordon Elliott – ‘She’s a nice, young horse who is just cantering away. I would like what I see from her at the moment and she looks to have a nice way of going. We will bring her along steadily over the next number of weeks and she should graduate to doing some easy work by next month.’

Aidan O’Ryan – ‘I really like this fillies profile, she has a lovely physique to her, a great walk and since she has been in at Gordon’s has been showing all the right signs so far. The lads mentioned they wanted to add more fillies to the team which is a good move as you’ve a great race programme for them in Ireland.’
